Coupons and discounts

Most "Hemrock" or "Foresight" coupons floating around the web are fake. The coupon sites scrape any store they can find and generate codes that have never existed, and I get a steady trickle of email from people whose "50% off" code didn't work. Here's the real list. It's short.

Active discount codes

Codes are entered in the cart before payment and apply to that order only, not retroactively to one you've already placed. One code per order. A code applies to the product price and not to taxes or VAT, and it doesn't apply to custom models, advisory services, or pay-what-you-want products, where you've already chosen the price. When a code takes, the cart shows the discount as its own line before you pay, so if you don't see it, it hasn't applied.

Purchasing power parity

A $299 model costs the same number of dollars in Lagos and in San Francisco, but it doesn't cost the same. Prices here adjust automatically to where you are, using the World Bank's purchasing power parity data. The discount ranges from 20% to 50% depending on the country and shows in your cart before payment, with no code to enter.

The location comes from your connection and then your billing address, so the price you see before entering an address may shift once you do. I don't police it beyond that, but the point of the discount is to make the models affordable where salaries are lower, and I'd rather it went to the people it's meant for.

PPP discounts can't be combined with coupons. If a coupon code would give you a bigger discount than PPP, the coupon wins. Otherwise PPP applies and the coupon is ignored. You can decline the PPP discount at checkout if you'd rather pay full price, and some people do, which I appreciate.

Bulk licensing

Each purchase is a single-user license, so an accelerator or a course that wants every founder to have a model buys a seat per person. Bulk pricing makes that reasonable.

• 30% off for 10 or more.

This is how incubators, accelerators, venture studios, and university entrepreneurship programs usually buy. Contact me with the number of seats and I'll either issue a code for your cohort to use at checkout, or send a single invoice covering all of the seats, whichever is easier for your accounting. Cohorts that want a live session alongside the model can add a workshop to the same order.

Why there aren't more codes

The price on the page is the price, adjusted for where you live, and the one general code exists so that anyone who hesitates has a reason to start. If you've found a code somewhere else and it doesn't work, it never existed.
