Share links
Public links, private links with an access code, sending by email, and the fork-from-share button. Applies to every Hemrock web tool that supports sharing.
Open the Share menu in the model header. Pick a visibility, copy the URL, hand it to anyone.
Public links
Set visibility to Public. Anyone with the URL can view the model read-only.
Disabling the link 404s the URL immediately. The same URL won't come back if you toggle sharing back on later.
Private links
Set visibility to Private. The tool generates a short access code and shows it to you once. The viewer enters the code on the share page to unlock, then stays unlocked in that browser for 7 days.
You can copy the code at any time while it's still on screen, or copy a one-click unlock link that includes the code in the URL. The unlock link sets the cookie and redirects to the bare URL on first open, so the code doesn't linger in the recipient's browser history.
Rotate the code at any time. Rotating invalidates everyone who already unlocked, so they have to re-enter the new code.
Sending by email
Both visibility modes have a Send via email form on the Share menu. Recipient, optional message, send. The email arrives from shares@mail.hemrock.com with reply-to set to your address. Private sends include the access code in the body and use the unlock link as the button.
Forking from a share link
Every public-readable share link shows a Build your own fund model button. Clicking it copies the model into the viewer's account as their own owned model. The fork is independent of the source; the original owner is unaffected.
Signed-out viewers go through signup first, then land in the new model.
