What you'll do with it
Plan a business, build a budget, forecast cash, and pressure-test fundraising scenarios. Five years of monthly financials with prebuilt revenue logic for SaaS, subscription, ecommerce, marketplaces, hardware, services, and most variations in between. Used by 30,000+ founders since 2015.
Take it from idea-stage planning to a Series B board meeting without rebuilding the model. The financial core stays the same. You change inputs, swap revenue logic, and bolt on what your business actually does.
Edit with AI
Built so you and your AI can read, edit, and extend the model without breaking it. Inputs are blue, formulas are black, and every row is documented. Sheet names, cell references, and naming conventions follow patterns that AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT) can navigate accurately.
Get the most out of AI:
- Context primer. Paste this into Claude or ChatGPT before you make a change. It orients the AI to the model's structure so it edits the right cells.
- Prompt guide. Ready-made prompts for setup, customizing for your business, building scenarios, and preparing for investors.
- Hemrock Skill. A drop-in Claude Agent Skill that loads this model's sheet map, prompts, and checks into any Claude Project. Free, with no connector to set up.
- MCP server. On ChatGPT, Cursor, or another tool? The MCP server feeds the same context to any AI that speaks MCP.
- Verify before you trust. AI introduces subtle errors, so the prompt guide and Skill include sanity-check prompts that catch hallucinated formulas, hard-coded values, and confused metrics.
This is a tool you'll edit, not run unchanged. Start from a structure that works, customize for your business, and let AI do the line-level work.
How it's structured
Two integrated halves, joined by one bridge sheet:
- Financial core. Consolidated financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow), operating costs, hiring plan, cash forecast, valuation, actuals reporting, and key metrics.
- Revenue forecast. Prebuilt revenue model with operational drivers: acquisition, conversion, retention, pricing, billing cycles, MRR/ARR build, inventory, and more.
- The
Forecast sheet bridges them. Any revenue, expense, or operational metric plugs in here. Bring your own model and connect it without rebuilding everything else. Bring your own model →
Common questions
Why buy this when AI can build a model for me?
AI is good at edits, and also good at producing output that looks right but is silently wrong. Build from a blank sheet and those errors compound with nothing to catch them. Start from a structure 30,000+ founders have already used, and AI does the line-level work on a foundation that holds. That's what "built to edit" means.
Is it too complex to actually use?
You edit inputs, not formulas. Inputs are blue, every row is labeled, and you change assumptions in one place. If you'd rather not set it up yourself, a working session gets it running for your business in an hour.
What businesses does it work for?
SaaS (consumer and B2B), ecommerce, marketplaces, services, hardware, manufacturing, advertising, and media. The prebuilt revenue logic covers most variations, and anything missing plugs into the Forecast sheet.
Excel or Google Sheets?
Both. Download to Excel or copy to Google Drive. All formulas open, no macros, no locked cells.
What does lifetime access mean?
One-time purchase. Free updates to your major version. Re-download the latest version anytime through your account.
Is there a changelog?
Yes. The model has a Changelog sheet built into the workbook. Every model carries a version number, and the Changelog lists every change made for each version, with the cell and row references so you can apply an edit to your own copy. New versions go out by email to registered purchasers. See the changelog guide for how updates work.
Can I customize it heavily?
Yes. That's the point. Every cell is editable, and the model is built to be modified. See Bring your own model for the integration approach.
What if I get stuck?
Free email support, from me. Or book a working session to set it up for your business, or to review a version you built with AI. For a deeper build, see Custom model.
