“The Venture Capital Model ... has been an invaluable tool for our new fund in Western North Carolina, supporting both short-term recovery efforts and long-term growth capital in the wake of Hurricane Helene. The model is flexible, intuitive, and easy to use, making it an excellent resource for fund managers navigating complex investment scenarios. Beyond the tool itself, Taylor was incredibly helpful and responsive when we needed customizations, providing clear guidance that made a meaningful difference in adapting the model to our specific needs. We are deeply appreciative of both the product and the support, highly recommended for anyone in the venture space!”

Forecast a fund from first close to final distribution. Capital deployment, follow-on reserves, graduation rates, exits, distributions, and management fees, quarterly, over up to 20 years. Every standard performance metric (Gross/Net IRR, Multiple, RVPI, DPI, TVPI) calculated automatically.
Built for emerging managers who need a real model to underwrite the fund strategy, established GPs who want to pressure-test changes, and LPs evaluating fund mechanics from the inside.
Use it to model funds, rolling funds, SPVs, syndicates, or any vehicle deploying venture capital.
Every cell open. Inputs in blue, formulas in black, rows documented. Built so you and your AI can extend it without breaking the underlying logic.
If you want a hosted version with auto-save, no spreadsheet to manage, and a public share link you can hand to LPs, get the hosted Fund Economics Tool. Same fund-economics engine. Sharing is free; multi-user editing is a paid add-on.

Why pay for this when AI can build a fund model?
A fund model is one of the hardest things to get right and one of the easiest for AI to get plausibly wrong. Waterfalls, recycling, GP catch-up, and carry tiers all look fine until the distribution math is off by a turn. This hands AI a structure where that logic already holds, so it customizes inside guardrails instead of inventing them. Build a fund forecast from a blank sheet and the errors don't announce themselves.
Doesn't my fund administrator already model this?
A fund admin reports what has happened: actual calls, distributions, NAV. This is a forward forecast of what the fund could do across deployment, reserves, exits, and waterfall, before it happens. You use it to underwrite the strategy and pressure-test changes, then your admin tracks the actuals against it.
Funds only, or other VC vehicles?
Use it for funds, rolling funds, SPVs, syndicates, or angel structures. The fund-specific waterfall and management fee logic can be turned off or bypassed.
What if I just want to understand fund economics first?
Start with the Fund Economics Tool, free, simpler, no operational-level cash flow modeling. Get the shape, then move up to this if you need the full forecast.
European or American waterfall?
Both. Plus SPV waterfalls. Multi-tiered carry, preferred return, and GP catch-up are all prebuilt.
Excel or Google Sheets?
Both. All formulas open, no macros.

“Amazing support, timely response, and outstanding technical background.”

“Taylor was remarkably helpful in taking the templated model and customizing it so that it worked for our specific and very complicated use case. It was a smooth process that would not have been possible with someone who was equally great at spreadsheets but lacked Taylor's deep knowledge of venture capital.”

“Excellent tool for conceptualizing outcomes of different strategies.”

“I love this spreadsheet and recommend it highly.”
“The Venture Investor model is very in depth and chances are, if you have an issue the model can handle it. If you do need to make modifications Taylor is very helpful and responsive on email.”
